US ATPI Energy Travel Leader Recognised in 2024 Honoree List
Judy Peplinski (J.P) Chief Commercial Officer – ATPI Energy Travel Division & Managing Director, USA, has been chosen as an Outstanding Business Leader in Energy in the 2024 Women Who Mean Business honoree list.
Selected by the Houston Business Journal, the awards recognise women in leadership roles who have demonstrated excellence throughout their careers and in the local Houston community. Selection was based on criteria ranging from career achievements, company and industry contributions, leadership qualities, and community involvement.
With 40+ years of experience in the travel industry, including 35+ years in leadership positions, J.P.’s distinguished career has seen her involved in developing and implementing ground-breaking travel solutions tailored to the unique challenges faced by businesses in the energy and maritime industries. This includes the exemplary creation of the first-of-its-kind specialised visa and immigration company, Total Visa Solutions (TVS) in 2009.
Noticing a gap in the industry, J.P. developed TSV to address the complex visa and immigration needs for travelers working offshore internationally. Throughout her career, J.P. has shown her credentials as a subject matter expert in marine and energy-related travel.
J.P.’s vision, market insight, analysis, and strategic planning have been instrumental in the growth of ATPI as a travel leader in the U.S. and internationally – particularly against a backdrop of challenges, including strikes, civil unrest, and global pandemics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, J.P. was responsible for organising over 200 charters, establishing quarantine protocols and sterile paths to ensure that essential workers would continue to travel, even to closed markets.
A keen champion of diversity and inclusion, J.P. has used her personal experiences to rise through the ranks of the once heavily male-dominated oil and gas industry. She has since helped pave the way for other females to reach similar leadership positions in the energy industry by creating the support group Women in Energy – a safe environment for female leaders to collaborate and share ideas.
Outside of her role driving innovative solutions and mentoring the next generation at ATPI, J.P. is respected throughout her native Houston community thanks to the time she dedicates to supporting several organisations and charity initiatives. These include groups advocating against human trafficking, community support to provide meals for those in need, and establishing the charity Friends Helping Friends after Hurricane Harvey in 2017.
Discussing the crowning achievement, J.P. commented: “Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting customers to deliver exceptional travel management services while at the same time lifting those around me and passing on knowledge to the future generation. To be recognized in this honoree list amongst so many inspiring females in leadership positions is an immense privilege and one I am incredibly proud of.
Throughout my career, and especially with ATPI, I have been lucky to work alongside many amazing people. These people have helped me grow. I like to think I have helped them too. I’m proud to play a crucial role in laying the foundations for ongoing success at ATPI and mentoring more women in leadership positions to reach their potential. This award won’t change my desire or commitment to make a lasting difference in the industry and my community.”
J.P., alongside her fellow honorees, will be recognised at an in-person awards ceremony on the 17th of October at Houston’s Marriott Marquis. Other award categories include leaders in finance, government and education, law, and health care.
