Meet Our Team: Saghy Forouzan, Corporate Travel Supervisor

“Quality and efficiency are at the core of everything we do.”

We spoke with Saghy Forouzan, Corporate Travel Supervisor at ATPI, about her daily responsibilities, how she ensures quality and service consistency, and the challenges and innovations she encounters in her role.

How does ATPI ensure a consistently high-quality service from our consultants?

“At ATPI, we work with numerous templates to ensure our consultants deliver a consistent, high-quality service,” says Saghy. “We start with reviewing company profiles and traveler profiles, so we know exactly what the client needs. We also have a coaching and monitoring system in place. For example, I organize a quarterly coaching session with my team, hold one-on-one meetings each month, and run a monitoring session every 4 to 6 weeks.” Saghy explains the importance of these monitoring sessions: “During a session, we listen to two random phone calls and discuss what went well and what could be improved. This helps to enhance our communication skills. We also review emails to gain a comprehensive understanding of our communication quality. This approach ensures that everyone knows exactly what they can improve on and which training they need to continue developing.”

In your view, what is the most important role of a travel consultant at ATPI?

“Our role is primarily advisory; we aim to ease the traveler’s experience,” Saghy explains. “It all begins with careful listening.” We ask open-ended questions and dig deeper to fully understand the client’s needs. Based on this understanding, we can present a proposal that perfectly matches their requirements, including a more cost-effective alternative when possible.”
“We also offer additional services, like seat reservations and hotel bookings. And if we need assistance in finding the best route or the most competitive rate, we work closely with our Expertise Desk.”

How does sustainability play a role in your recommendations to clients?

“Sustainability is important to ATPI and to our clients,” says Saghy. “When feasible, we suggest train travel, which saves time—no airport transfers, check-in, or baggage handling—and allows travelers to work comfortably en route. This is especially appealing for business travelers.”
Saghy also mentions sustainable hotels as an example: “We partner with many hotel chains that prioritize sustainability. It’s rewarding to guide our clients toward sustainable options.”

How do you respond when travel costs are higher than expected?

“When costs exceed the client’s initial expectations, we investigate the reasons. Could adjusting the travel dates by a day be more economical? Or was it a last-minute booking with only business class availability? We collaborate with the client to explore alternative options. This includes checking NDC channels or consulting our Expertise Desk for special ATPI rates.

If a client prefers KLM, we might explore whether flying with Air France through a Paris connection is more cost-effective. Sometimes, combining KLM and Air France flights can reduce costs. Additionally, two one-way tickets can occasionally be cheaper than a round-trip. It’s also advantageous when clients book directly and request immediate ticket issuance, as fares are only guaranteed for 24 hours and are confirmed once issued.”

Finally, Saghy highlights smart ticketing: “For clients who frequently travel to the same destination, we can combine trips, which often proves more economical.”

“With a focus on detail, cost savings, and sustainability, ATPI ensures that every travel solution is perfectly aligned with the client’s needs—whether it’s identifying the most affordable route or providing a sustainable alternative.”
